( it's the first time kissing has really even been brought up since that night — only with it announced does arisu realize he has in fact been avoiding the subject, as if worried about chishiya's regret. ordinarily that would be all the more reason to clear the air between them, but he supposes he's still capable of acting cowardly in the face of somethings, his own feelings withstanding. with the word, oddly, comes some sense of relief, if only because it means arisu isn't the only one thinking about it. )
Do you think so?
( in answer, he stretches his long legs out, pushing the wheely chair over to the door to chishiya's office. it gets silently shut, the lock turned, the little blinds on the door's window twisted until they too fall closed.
[His eyebrows go up as Arisu pushes the chair back to lock the door and close the blinds. Huh. He wasn't really sure where Arisu stood about things before. There was always a chance he might have regretted what happened, or was only interested at the time because he was drunk. But, well, Chishiya felt like he was, perhaps, sending some signals this afternoon.
[Arisu has fake married a rebel who starts fires in the middle of town. He has no problem with making out in his office if he's given the opportunity. Which, it appears, he has.
He cups Arisu's face in his hands and kisses him. It's a soft but greedy, exploration of Arisu's mouth, like he wants to savor this even more now that he's been given the chance to do it sober.]
( it's maybe a bit more passionate than he was expecting for an afternoon kiss in his husband's office — but arisu isn't complaining. his hands grip and hold chishiya's slim waist, head tilted to kiss him. he tastes bitter from the coffee, and sweet from the cookies — a little packaged taste of chishiya combined, who can be bitter and sweet in equal measure, no tasting required.
when they part, arisu's eyes stick on his mouth, a little awed that he was just there, kissing him. eventually he blinks up and meets his gaze, offering a sincere look. )
I don't care either.
( a thoughtful beat ............ and he goes red up to his ears. )
I mean. Probably not further than this. Like, kissing is fine. But. ( he trails off, taking a hand from chishiya to cover half his face, and then letting out an almost bellowing laugh at his own awkwardness. ) Don't look at me! Pretend I didn't say that. Oh my god.
[He blinks once. Then twice. And of course he doesn't heed Arisu's request not to look at him. He looks, his head tilting, cat-like, with interest as the flush spreads over Arisu's face.]
So you've thought about it.
[And is maybe, specifically, thinking about it right now. He sounds...pleased, actually. It's a bit of a surprise, somehow, in spite of the kisses (both the drunk ones and this sober one). On some level Chishiya is always prepared for disappointment, and he hadn't really let himself entertain the idea that Arisu might really be willing to explore whatever attraction he might be feeling beyond the cuddling at night and maybe the occasional kiss.
His lips twitch upward slightly, with amusement and with something a little more mischievous. He probably shouldn't say what he's thinking. He was trying not to fluster Arisu a few minutes ago. But he can't seem to help himself.]
But you'd rather I not seduce you right now?
[As usual the only way he knows how to entertain the warmth in his chest is with teasing, trying to see how far Arisu will let him push now that he's been given an opening.]
( embarrassed, he draws his eyes up to the ceiling to search for his dignity, somewhere among the fluorescents. apparently, it decided to take its break at the same time as chishiya — so arisu just shakes his head, smiling in a shy way but without backtracking. his hands squeeze chishiya's hips, sucking on his teeth, rubbing his thumbs against the material of his shirt. )
What's a word for when you probably should say "yes" but definitely want to say "no"?
[He smiles slowly and it’s genuine with a hint of warmth.]
Isn’t that "maybe?"
[He sounds amused. That might not be exactly the right word, but it’s something between "yes" and "no," at least. Mostly, it’s an excuse to keep gently teasing Arisu as he runs his fingers through his shaggy hair. Now that he’s started touching him, it’s hard to stop.]

It seems like he was right.
His lips curl upward in a faint smile.]
It's definitely unprofessional. But...I don't really care.
